Seeking information about an Odd Fellows Ceremonial sword belonging to a friend; it was his grandfather. He is wanting information on the value, construction, etc. Any information anyone can provide is greatly appreciated

Ceremonial swords are relatively common.

Gold plate over cast steel or iron. Etched steel blade, typically not heat treated.

Do you have the storage bag and case?

$50-$200 depending upon buyer's interest.

Can you tell the maker? Ames, Roby, Pettibone, and Emerson & Silver?
 
That sword is rather odd, fellow.

A friend of mine picked one up at a rummage sale years ago. He was always going to do something with it in the line of costuming and never got a round tuit.

So , HSO,

could such a thing be tempered by Joe Normal in his shop so as to have something that might last a bit in a Home defense situation?

Just curious.
