had a couple buddies who have been shooting this powder... When I saw some available when i picked up some H335 ta test i figured i'd try It,,,

So wanna pass on my 1st testing of this Powder to you all

I saw most liked the 27.1-27.4gr loads as well as 26.1-26.4gr loads.... So with my lee Auto Disk I was able to get 27.1 and 26.1 so thats where i started...

Did 2 tests… All Dogtown HP’s at OAL of 2.23
Test rifle... S&W Sport.. 16" barrel 1/8 twist

CFE223 26.1gr
Rd1 Ave 2720 High 2773 Low 2657…. Very Nice Load…. Consistant FPS as well
Rd2 Ave 2605 High 2683 Low 2499… Much lower FPS but BEST Rounds of the Test of Both gr’s

CFE223 27.1gr
Rd1 Ave 2800 High 2839 low 2743… not bad Load….
Rd2 Ave 2801 High 2868 low 2761…. Not Bad

CFE223 metered as Good as any other .223 powder I have used… it seemed very Consistent in its FPS in all the tests…. The 26.1gr seemed very Very accurate and Consistent……. Gunna try some More with that load next range trip…..

I like the Powder….. good Thing since I have 8lbs of it….LOL......

Next try ill do some FMJ-BT (always struggle with these) Z-Max and V-Max...
Ill probably set aside the WC844 and H335 for awhile and Test and Shoot the CFE223

The DOT is 1"... these are the last Rounds of the Day after testing and shooting about 100... so my grouping isnt too bad but could be better:D
The WC844 is my Standard Load and was for comparison ta see if the Scope and Shooter where shooting ok...

Your velocity results are similar to some of mine, 26.5gr yielded 2750fps from my 16".

I've decided to stay with W748. Seeing higher velocity and better accuracy. I could probably work up and accurate load, but despite the higher velocity claims, I ain't seeing it. Same was true with the two powders and 50 gr Vmax. It is definitely a slower powder, and requires 5-10% more powder to meet W748 velocities.

I am still tinkering with it in 308 AR10.

Cfe 223

It is a very interesting concept and seems to work as advertised. It may be of advantage to a high volume shooter. Perhaps a prairey dog shooter would benefit if he or she shot several hundred rounds in one outing.I am a low volume shooter so I believe I will stick to my W 748 and IMR 4895 for my 223.
