Changing Barrels, Calibers on Savage 10FLP?

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change out the barrel and bolt head on a Savage 10FLP to change it to a different caliber? I have two .223's, and I'd like to make this one into a deer/elk rifle in .300 WSM or something similar (short action, big bang). I'm told it can be done, but would like to find some guidance from someone who knows what they're doing. Thanks for your help --

I swap between 223, 308, and 260 Remington, but not a magnum caliber.

Get the contact information from sharpshootersupply.com and call Fred Moreo. He can tell you all about caliber swaps to magnum calibers. I think there is a barrel thread diameter mismatch, but Fred can tell you for sure.
