Changing preference-revolvers vs semi-autos

I started with semi-autos for carry and training, then bought my first revolver as a hunting platform. Like the OP, though, I'm finding it more "fun" to shoot revolvers at the range these days. Still have several semi-autos, but recent purchases have all been wheel guns. Guess the count is about 50-50 now.

I started with one revolver and one auto. Got another auto for my wife. All the rest have been revolvers. Even my wife has converted over. I'm even considering (and I can't believe I'm saying this) selling off my P89. It sits in its case and rarely gets shot. I'm tormented over this! :banghead:

All I've ever had in handguns is autoloaders. I do have my eye on a 4" Ruger GP-100; As my father-in-law would say "Everyone needs at least 1 revolver."

With my two West German SIG-SAUERS (.45 caliber P220A, and a 9m/m P228)
being the work horses in my stable for many, many years leading up to the fall
of '04; since then, I have bought both semi-auto's and revolvers. I still favor
the semi-autos for defensive purposes; but occassionally I still carry a small
S&W J-frame revolver. Both, have their specific and practical purpose; so
plenty of both can be found in my collection.;) :D

I started with S&W revolvers and at one point had around seventy of them. While I bought a lot of semi-autos of all kinds, none lasted more than a month - they just weren't enough fun and I didn't trust the reliability of any of them. Then I found my way to CZ 75 and have owned a half-dozen of them for quite awhile.

Though I sold off lots of revolvers, there are still many more of those in my safe, and they're still lots of fun. And they're what I carry.

I have about a dozen autos and never had any interest in a revolver. I went to the SHOT show and handled a number of revolvers. My first one will arive later this week! We'll see how it goes once I actually shoot it.

I've always had about an equal number of both. Favorite autos are my Sigs, H&K's, Beretta's and Glocks. Collect Colts and have a number of S&W's. In the past year I've found myself moving to owning and shooting my wheel guns more than the autos. In the market right now for a Smith 25 in .45 Colt.

Well, it seems every time I have trouble with an auto, it's due to a misfeed, usually caused by the magazine. Revolvers don't have magazines. That's a huge plus right there.

Also consider how much you spend on magazines. They are usually about $30 each. I like to have at least 6 for each gun.

Speed loaders are only a couple bucks each and can be used with multiple models of revolvers. Big cost savings for the wheelgun.

Semi-autos can conceal better being thinner though.

I have a tough time deciding. My guns are about 50/50 of each. I need more revolvers though..... and semi-autos. :D

M15? :D http://www.taurusarmed.net/forums/index.php?topic=578.0 This one looks nice.

I never grew out of revolvers. My first handguns were revolvers other than one SA .22. I didn't get my first center fire auto until the mid 80s, a 1911. I'm not counting a .25 auto in that. I had two 1911s, sold one, one got stolen, bought a several Ruger P series guns, 2 of which I still have. I have had various small caliber (.25-.380) pistols, but I have FAR more revolvers and I just like 'em more than autos. I really cannot say why. I have one pocket 9mm that I carry most, I must say, but I have a few snubbies and 3" revolvers that do CCW duty and I don't really feel any less armed with 'em. My little ultra lite .38 is a pleasure to carry.
