I do very much enjoy both types, but revolvers have the edge. The turning of the cylinder as the hammer comes back, is something I like, for one thing. Brass that ejects manually, with a choice of smartly or gently, is something else I like.

The movies and TV shows I saw as a kid mostly showed revolvers being used, and I am sure that has affected my perceptions.

When shooting on private land, where I don't want to leave any brass behind, it is certainly less frustrating to pick up after a revolver.

I enjoy both, but revolvers have the edge for me. I have a thing for blued steel and round butts.

Revolver, no contest for me. I hate loading magazines, and I have control over where the empties go with a revolver. Dry fire practice is easier (except with DAO autos, I guess...I have no experience with them). It's easier to figure out what I'm doing wrong if I have a friend load my cylinder randomly with live rounds and empties.

I also find it irritating when a firearm glitches (failure to feed, fire, eject, whatever) and it just seems to happen a whole lot more with autos in my experience and observation.

Revolver.

Just feels better in my hand.

Most importantly, I hate chasing brass. Can't stand to sit there at a range I pay to use and watch more money flying out of my gun after every shot.

I choose revolver.

My choice is not exactly fair thought because part of the reason is because one of my two autos is an older (I bought it used) .45 glock that is just not accurate at all so it's no fun to me. The other reason is that I own a S&W500 and I justhave a ball shooting that. I also recently purchased a S&W 386NG and so far I enjoy that as well.

On the auto side though my other auto is a S&W 22A with a red dot that is incredibly accurate and totally fun (and cheap) to shoot.

revolver vs semi auto

Both!

I'd be hard pressed to choose one over the other.

I like revolvers better because they are more of a challenge to shoot well.

However, I shoot my autos on a tarp, so the step and fetch for brass is not a big factor either way.
