Hi guys. A relative of mine bought a new production Bulldog a couple years ago on a whim. He's never even fired it. We were going to take it to the range recently, and I checked it out before hand. Timing is off. Cylinder isn't locked up when hammer is cocked and locked all the way back on 4 outta 5 cylinders. (We ended up shooting some of my revolvers instead.)
He ordered the gun through Davidson's, but the dealer he went through soon closed down after that.

Have any of you returned a revolver to Charter for repairs under similar circumstances (defective product ) ? Did they send you a prepaid box to send it back to them ? How long to get it back, and did they repair it properly ? Thanks

I have never had to use it, but their CS has an excellent reputation.

They have the best customer service in the industry when it comes to repairs. My bulldog's timing was off when I bought it. Sent it back in, turnaround time was something like 6 days total. They paid for shipping both way.

They are beyond awesome!

The transfer bar on my 9mm PITBULL broke and locked the gun up. I called Charter Arms and spoke to Donna, she issued a FedEx label, I sent the gun in and got it back in about a week.

I would contact Davidsons. They will
tell you who you can go through in your area.
Don't even bother.

Just call Charter Arms. They will make it right, with 0 cost to you, in a hurry and they'll now how to fix the gun up properly.

Thank you everyone for your reply. My relative will be happy to hear that Charter will make it right. I was looking through the box that the gun came in and there was the little card from Davidson's. It said it had to be mailed in within 30 days. (My relative thought he was automatically covered.) Also, Davidson's doesn't cover shipping. So, going directly to Charter sounds like the best deal for him. I'll let you know how it all works out. Thanks again

Matched my experience when the extractor star on mine jammed up.

Speaking of the 9mm Pitbull, anyone got any details about the "exchange" offer of the old six shot models for the new five shot ones?

I'm reasonably happy with mine but it has more ammo sensitivity than I like (too many brands have high mis-fire rate). My .40 Pitbull has had no such troubles.

Call them up. They'll email you a shipping label. In two weeks you'll have your gun back, fixed.

(Been through the process four times. In a year and a half. A "birth defect", and multiple broke transfer bars. I don't have that gun anymore.)

Yep, I like my Rugers too, a lot. But until they produce an easily concealed, 20oz 44 special, my little Pug will always be near and dear to me.
