I have been thinking about a .22 rifle. Can anybody tell me about the quality, in terms of function and durability, of the Chiappa LA322 lever action .22 rifle?

If it were me I would check out the Uberti Silver Boy, it has a chromed aluminum alloy receiver (which I like better than the Henry’s Zamak receiver). It also has the loading gate on the side of the tube magazine which I find a little bit easier to load and one of the nicest features is that it has controlled round feed, so it can be chambered with the rifle in any position. My brother has a Uberti and it is a nice rifle for the price $335 at buds. I had a Henry 5 years ago and wasn’t impressed with how fast the finish chipped around the ejection port and lever action and the Zamak was showing through. It shot fine but it wasn’t up to the quality on the long term visual appearance.
If I was in the market for a 22lr lever I would look at the following in order.
Winchester (used no new production)
Marlin (used no new production)
Uberti
Browning (the trigger moves with the levered action)
Henry
Hopefully someone can comment on the chiappa for you I don’t know where it would fall in terms of quality.
