I was out for a quick drink last night with a friend and heard this on the news but haven't heard anything posted or heard anything since then. It seems that Chicago Republicans have put up a $10,000 reward for any whistleblowers that turn in any wrong doings of Daley and his miscreants. I heard Daley on the news lastnight spewing a Ted Kennedy like rant of "I have a wife and kids, blah blah blah and I can't believe they (Republicans) are doing this to me, this is an outrage!".

If anyone has a link to this story it would be great. I simply do not have the time to scour the internet to find articles like this. What a great starter for conversation. There is nothing like a scandal involving the wonderful Mayor of Chicago....

It simply would be a much nicer state without him.....

I'd rather see them run a electable candidate and win.

Apparently, some of Daley's cronies are starting to flip.......But I bet Daley would still run and (probably win) even if he was in jail........ :cuss:

When a local radio personality here in Indianapolis commented on this, he said that the official Democrat response was to offer $12,000 to keep quiet! :D

FWIW,

Hmmmm . ..

I haven't heard anything else about this; however, it would be great sport to see Emperor "DICK" Daley II go down in flames

If for nothing else, just for his destruction of Meigs Field runways. It would be even greater sport to see The Emperor having to fix said runways personally...1 bag of 'sack-crete' at a time.

I can't imagine $10,000 tempting anybody who knows where the bodies are buried. It's a lot more profitable than that to be a Daley crony. Democrat politicians were retiring (or dying) as multi-millionaires in the 1930's.

But I bet Daley would still run and (probably win) even if he was in jail.
I grew up in Chicago. Believe me, there's one, and ONLY one, thing that matters when it comes to being elected there: Who's counting the votes?

"I have a wife and kids, blah blah blah and I can't believe they (Republicans) are doing this to me, this is an outrage!"
I'm confused, why didn't Premier Daley just say that there was nothing to find

Only one who would beat Daley is if they run a Black. Grew up about 30mi S of Chicago. Everything I read says in Crook County the Whites are the minority.

Really. Ten grand? Let's get some real money out there. Can Illinois Republicans put up a tax free million bucks and witness protection?

Here's some text about the GOP bounty. I plan on letting them know I'll make a donation if something comes to fruition.

Regarding the black candidate, I believe Jesse Jackson Jr. is considering a bid. While he's hardly anyone I'd want representing me, it would still be a help for IL. I think his anti-gun proclivities are more incidental, as opposed to being a personal crusade like with Daley.

Have to laugh when I hear about Jesse Jacksons kid might run for mayor. Time to pay Daley back for all the years he was up Jesse Jackson A*S LOL

Statists always claim 'victimization' when someone wants to hold them accountable.

I moved from N.E. Illiinois (about a 1/4 mile from state line) to N.W. Indiana (about 2 miles from my old Illinois residense) about 15 yrs. ago. The attitude about politics in general and difference in attitude about guns is almost bizzare by comparison. So many people have bailed out of Illinois to move here it's really straining Indiana's financial resourses to support the influx via new roads, police and fire protection, and schools. To top it off Daley has moved on successfully with the gentrafication of Chicago. He's tearing down the low/no income highrise projects his father built, and replacing them with high $$$ condos and refurbed 90-100 yr. old buildings. With lower rental rates here in Indiana the dregs of Chicago are moving here with the aid of section 8. Add to that, Illinois whined so bad 5 yrs ago about loss of state tax revenue, that Hoosiers that work in Illinois have to pay 3% of the total 3.4% state income tax to Illinois, .4% goes to Indiana. The reverse is true but I guarantee that the imbalance of payment is truely unfare. When I make visits to Illinois in and around Chicago I am in awe of the gigantic tax base that exists. And yet Chicago / Daley constantly bemoans shortage of cash to run the city. How can that be? Only one answer comes to mind. Chicago is sucking the life out of Illiniois and it's far reaching tenticles are now draining Indiana. Hopefully Daley will join his father in Hell soon.

The Chairman of the Cook County Republican committee got fired from his regular job yesterday. He was COO for a real estate development company and his company/boss is big contributor/supporter of Da Mayor.

Please draw you on conclusions, but I sure thought that you could not be fired for your political beliefs.....

Connect the dots . . . the guy's boss is probably $12,000 richer today.

I thoughtJesse Jackson"s kid was a damocrat congressperson?

He is, and I find most of his views - particularly those related to RKBA - contemptible.

That said, he'd still be better for Chicago and for the rest of Illinois than Daley.

Trading Daley for Jackson would just be swapping evils....

It is a sad statement that nearly everyone in Illinois is aware of the problem (Chicago and it's corrupt political machinery) and yet we have no viable alternative. Worse than that, many people actually like Daley...you know...cause the trains run on time....
