what a wonderfully cute way to waste time an taxpayers money for a simple solution:barf:

"This makes a mockery of the process," Slade said. "A rep is there to make sure an officer's rights are being met. . . . Deception has no part in the process."

This guy went from "We knew this was nothing" in describing the investigation to "makes a mockery of the process" when the accused decides to bring a reporter to the meeting. If it started as a mockery, it wasn't the reporter's presence that changed it into one. Pretty smart thinking by the accused in my opinion.

Good thing he didn't use a slingshot. They may have busted him for using a "ancient christian biblical murder weapon".

The good lieutenant was exculpated of any wrongdoing.

The complaint should never have been taken seriously.

a blurb in todays local rag says officer has been fully cleared of any wrongdoing...
they didnt mention it was an airgun though.. just said "pistol" i was thinking how crazy is that cop to send blind 9mm shots in the sky ?

case closed

Just think how many trees died to generate the paperwork to finish the investigation. Of course, the complaint is not expunged from the cop`s record. It`ll always be there and will be used to start another investigation if his name pops up for any reason. This includes promotion, assignment to a better job etc. In his case with his time, it probably doesn`t matter but still.

Well over 30 years ago I had a retired Sgt. tell me that if someone makes a complaint that you`re importing women from the Moon, that`s right, the one up there, for the purposes of prostitution, it`ll be investigated. Now that` I`m retired, I can tell you it`s true.:barf:

Air Pistol Trivia Time ...

In Canada, certain airguns are considered firearms. I have a Crosman 1377C air pistol that is registered, by law, as a restricted handgun. It's in the same class as a Desert Eagle .50 cal would be ... :)

>>And I'm pretty sure he didn't use a slingshot.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>Please elaborate.

A slingshot uses a rubber band. A sling is the weapon that David used. Slings are just lengths of rope or leather with a pouch in the middle. In ancient times they were as good as the bows of the times, though later they were surpassed. Balearic islander slingers were used by Caesar along with archers; Roman slingers used lead projectiles. The projectiles were quite heavy, on the order of 28.3 grams (thus dangerous when launched upwards).
