CHL classes central/south Texas

I need to renew my license and am looking for a good place to do that in the San Antonio to San Marcos area. Can anyone recommend a good place? There are lots in the phone book or via google, but I'm looking for a personable instructor that is knowledgable that you can personally recommend. I went into Lonestar something off I-35 in Schertz, but they did not seem particularly friendly. Last class I took was at Bullet Hole- but that was too far. My brother wants to get his CHL with me. I heard there was a retired Texas Ranger that teaches around New Braunfels. Point me in the right direction.

Deryl Oldag, www.oldagguns.com, 830.214.6986. Oldag Guns is a nice shop--Deryl gets an "A" for customer service every time I visit.

Cedar Ridge Range, www.cedarridgerange.com, has a link to instructors who use their range for the range portion of the CHL.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I got some personal references and have been to this range before and like it so I decided to use Terry Mathis at www.shootersready.com .They use Bexar Community Range.
