Choke ID Sav. Mod. 24

I have a Savage model 24 o/u .22mag/20ga but there are no markings that indicate what the choke is. I believe it is the S-D variant.

Is it an older gun? I would guess a .22LR/20 ga. has a full choke. Go to the FAQ at this link and see question #3, then click on the left picture/ad.

Almost all the 24s were full choke except for the Camper's Companion which was cylinder bore.

I've looked all over Savage24 for the last week and couldn't find a definite answer.

Best I can tell its a 1966 model. Judging by the markings on it.

Any Idea what 20ga should measure for the different chokes?

Modified .603
Improved Mod. .598
Full Choke .592
Extra Full .590
