There is no Reminton 'code'.

Unless it has screw-in choke tubes?

It will be plainly stamped Imp. Cyl, Mod, or Full on the left side of the barrel.

If it isn't marked, it has screw-in Rem-Choke tubes.

if it has a fixed choke you can have it threaded for choke tubes, i had my barrel for a 20ga rem 1100 threaded by mike orlen for choke tubes and could not be happier. eastbank.

+ 1

You will kill more game with today's improved shotshells with Imp Cyl then any tighter choke.

Especially with steel shot.

I have killed more quail and pheasants with a 20 ga Skeet1 & Skeet2 20, and an Imp Cyl 12 then you can haul home in a truck.

More people miss more game using too much choke then not enough, by far.

IC is great for upland game, skeet, and sporting clays. If for Pheasants I use a field load for the first shot then a buffered mag for The rest. Buffered Mags shoot 1 choke tighter. Unless your birds are flushing really wild you will be good. Steel shot shoots well from open chokes you must pattern all loads. Hevi-shot can make any gun into a legit duck/goose gun, spend some money on shells and pattern every load.

Choke ID marks?

I keep forgetting how the marks go.
I have 3 dimples on the left barrels choke and 4 dimples stamped into the right choke/
What do they mean?
The gun is Stoger 20 ga uplander. A real sweetheart!
Thanks,
ZVP

ic is a good rabbit-bird choke to about 25-30 yds, but with a barrel that takes choke tubes you can go from cly-imp cly-mod-full-turkey in about 30 seconds. true by jugglying shell shot size and power you can improve you kill range with a more open choke, but it is easier and cheaper to change tubes. it you have your barrel threaded for remington chokes its is very cheap,i have bought remington choke tubes for 5.00 each. eastbank.

I have an LW with a 26" IC barrel. The pattern at 40 yds is mighty thin even with 1oz loads. I really like the gun and at some point will get the barrel sent off to Mike Orlen. I wanted to go with Rem chokes, but I think the barrel is too thin and would have to go with the aftermarket chokes. I also looked around for a 28" Mod choke barrel, but I can't find one that does not cost more than I paid for the gun.

I've started to put it up for sale a few times as it does not really fit any needs at the moment, but I just can't bring my self to sell it. It's such a sweet little gun.

mike orlen charged me 75.00 to thread the barrel and return it to me with very fast turn around time. my 1100 is a very early 12ga framed 20ga, you can shoot it all day with out getting beat to death. eastbank.
