My Christmas came a little late this year, but I'm pretending to be Greek Orthodox... I got a call from my local neighborhood gun shop saying that my Christmas present had arrived. What was the late Christmas present you ask??? It was a Dan Wesson Patriot Commander Bob Tail in 45 ACP, with front NS. I arrived at the shop after work and had to fight my way through a crowd of shop employees and regulars that were drooling on and passing my pistol around. After a few minutes I got the pistol in my hands and inspected it ...what a thing of beauty. Best trigger that I have ever felt on a factory pistol. Very little take up, breaking glass crisp release and no noticeable overtravel. No trigger pull scale available but my "calibrated" trigger finger says 4#s or so. 6o rounds fired from 5 different mags with no issues whatsoever. I tore the heck (in deference to Art's Grandmaw) out of a bunch of bullseyes. First time out with it and I seem to be shooting it as well as or better than any of the other 1911 pattern pistols in the safe, and this with WW Whitebox 230s. Another 100 or so 230 ball to burnish the bore and then I will test it with some 200 gr LSWC and after a couple hundred of them I will try a couple hundred rounds of 185 and 230 grain gold dots. I can easily see the CBOB replacing the Kimber Compact as my daily toter. My thanks and praise to Bob Serva and his gang from Norwich NY.
