Has anybody tried one of these Ciener .22 LR conversions? I have been considering getting one and trying it on my FEG PJK-9HP that is laying around doing nothing since I got my FN-HP. If I got one it would probably be the Hi-Power Plus version.

Any experience? impressions? criticisms?

My other idea might be to get one of these HP Detective uppers. but that's just a passing curiousty, I really can't see the pistol being an inch shorter as being that much of an improvement for concealed carry on an HP, the slide is so slim any way.

Not sure about High Powers, but for Glocks you'd be better off with something homemade out of duct tape and wood glue than wasting your money on a Ciener.

50-50 chance on those Ciener 22 conversions working. I think they are a RIPOFF! I am holding out to see about the Marvel 22 conversions. Ciener is arrogant, unresponsive and seems to just not care. I would not buy anything from them. Ciener has RIPPEDOFF too many people that I know. The Detective HP conversion reduces weight, overall length and changes the HP balance. They aren't too bad. For $185.00, I like them. Cheaper than buying a 1911 Commander.

Thank you guys for the info. I will NOT be considering the Ciener (too bad, the idea of a .22 HP is cool)

If I get the detective I'll have to refinish something, or just not care that the frame is blued and the slide is that arsenal paint.

I'll have to find some info on that Marvel 22 conversion.

one thing about the detective...

Some folks over on the fnhigpower site tried these and IIRC there were questions about replacement springs. Perhaps Mr. Camp will chime in here as he is the HP guru.

Hello. No, I don't have any first-hand experience with the Ciener .22 conversion for the Hi Power. I do have one on a 1911 that works fine after I changed out the front sight for one that was MUCH higher. POA did not even come close to POI, being a foot or so low at 15 yards.

I like the idea of a .22 conversion unit for the Hi Power, but will wait.

Best.

I read a bunch of the posts about it over at fnhipower.com. it seems like they work ok other than the POI problems Mr Camp refered to on his 1911 kit.

Read reports here *Edit* the search paramaters don't stick, just enter the word Ciener.

It's seems the biggest problem though is actually getting one, and the costomer service sucks.

I wonder if going through Brownells (They sell them) would result in better service?

As it is, my poor little FEG gets little attention since I got my FN-HP, I would love add something to it, a .22 conversion would be my first choice, the detective kit second, but I read some very iffy reports on that also.
