I need to know, in no uncertain terms, what the maximum choke I can fire rifled slugs from in a 12ga bbl.

It has a 28" mod choked bbl, and I didn't realize that I needed a cylinder bore for slugs. Is it safe or unsafe to fire the slugs?

With a fixed choke gun it would be safe to shoot slugs through a full choke. Cylinder and improved cylinder is often recommended for screw in chokes because they have the threads as the only thing holding them in the barrel. I hunted for years with a fixed mod choke in a shotgun with deer slugs. Rifled slugs have been around longer than choke tubes.

Whew, okay. Yep, it's a fixed choke.

Thanks!

You really do know everything about shotguns, don't you?

Nope. You both seems to know what you're all about when it comes to shotguns. Smoke does, too.

Thanks again!
