Looking for some advice. I'm getting the bug to get a classic looking competition 1911. This will be for target shooting and maybe competition, later.

The features I'm looking for are:

- Bomar adjustable rear sight, mounted low
- Front sight with gold bead (?)
- Stainless or hard chrome frame
- Blued or black slide
- Single-sided thumb safety
- Beavertail grip safety
- Probably a S&A mag well, with integral MSH (probably)
- Considering a smooth front strap and using Pachmayr grips or skateboard tape.

I'm thinking about the following two pistols.

- Springfield Custom Shop "Basic Competition 1911-A1" (Doesn't have a high-cut front strap, which I would like. I do like that it doesn't have front slide serrations.)

- Wilson "Classic Model" (This one has a Wilson adjustable sight and it's not mounted very low into the slide. I don't like that. I would prefer the low-mounted Bomar setup. I would also like the option for no front slide serrations and a smooth front strap.)

Does anyone have experience with these two pistols? I'm very familiar with Wilson and SA Custom Shop pistols - I've had experience with several. I've just never had these two specific models.

Any feedback or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.
