Cleaning a Kel-Tec

Through inattention and a strange set of circumstances I dropped an unloaded Kel-Tec P32 from my shooting bench to the ground. Now it's full of very fine sand / dirt.

I'd rather not have to detail strip the pistol although I will if there is no option.

Lacking that, what would be your best recommendation to clean it?

I've thought of dunking it in kerosene, diesel fuel, WD-40, etc., swishing it around, brushing it out, and blowing it off. Would that work? I'm don't know if these chemicals would affect the plastic parts.

I checked their web site but didn't see anything about detailed cleaning.

Kel-Tecs are a breeze to take down. Field strip it, then push the pastic pins out that secure the trigger group in the frame. Spay/swish/brush that out with any good cleaner that is safe for plastics, oil and reassemble. Easy as that.

also KTOG.org, many many articles, they are a real breeze, if you want to take it down to the parts, it's just 3 pins to remove the frame from the grip and the take down is sized to be pulled by a bullet with the slide locked back.
