I just traded for a S&W 4566 and want to give it a really good cleaning.
What is the best way to clean a alum. frame and the stainless steel slide?
TIA:)

A popular method is to buy a spray can or two of one of the "Gun Scrubber" sprays.
You spray the parts down with the pressure spray and it cleans and de-greases them.

Since this does remove ALL lubrication, you have to make sure you re-lube everything to prevent rust (stainless steel DOES rust), and to lubricate it.
You can do this with a good spray-on lube like Rem-Oil or CLP Breakfree.

After spraying, either drain, shake, and wipe off the excess, or use compressed air to blow it off.

As you reassemble, put some lube on areas subject to wear like slide and frame rails, the outside of the barrel, etc.
