My best groups of the day were shot using hand cleaner as lube.

Which Gojo are you using, did it come in a squeeze bottle or did you put some of the original paste in a squeeze bottle?
They make so many different cleaners, could your please post a link to it?
It's funny that the original Gojo paste even looks like lard, and Crisco too.
And it probably also works better.

@Mike 56 are you using a version (gojo, fast orange, zep, lava etc) with pumice? Wondering if those are gritty enough to cause undesirable effects if you use it long term and also if that's whats doing the cleaning action to some degree?

There's also the more natural versions that don't have the petroleum distillates and use walnut shell and corn cob fines vs pumice. As with most "green" versions of things it may not work as well as the original but would reduce chances of having the petrolium tar gunk that I've heard people mention. If that's actually an issue...

Anyone thinking about doing a DIY version from the unused tumbling media dust/fines from the bottom of the media bag?!

I bought a new can of Gojo hand cleaner from the auto parts store for 3.50. The hand cleaner I have been using Goop they are both white and are the same thickness as mayonnaise and have no pumice or anything gritty in them. I would avoid any cleaner with pumice or other abrasive like the plague. Cleaning...well, I'm happy with Simple Green.

Mr.woodnbow, the lithium grease that you use, is it the white paste? I have some and used it in the arbor and didnt likd. Not sure if its the same kind as yours. Mine didnt feel too "slick" either. I started using mobil-1 synthetic grease and i have since made a weird mix that works great for internal and arbor lube/grease. Its mobil-1 mixed with lots of raw shea butter (great natural lube for black powder) and lanolin. This mix is slick and stays put. I love it. If anyone has these ingredients try it out. I usually melt the raw shea butter and mix it with the lanolin and then mix it with mobil-1 red grease.

The stuff I use is branded wd40. It’s in an aerosol can and very slick...

Went to the range yesterday I made some new lube lard/beeswax it was terrible it gummed up my walker in short order even the arbor. So I gave the barrel hammer a quick cleaning with hand cleaner. That cleaner flat melts black powder fouling. I also lubed the cylinder pin hand cleaner. The cylinder is so large on the Walker when working up loads I would add the powder charge add a wad or no wad and top the cylinder off with cream of wheat. I used a Frenchs mustard container it made it easy to control the flow. I did not use a measure just eyeballed it. After seating the balls I put a small squirt over the balls. The walker shot very accurate loaded like this and it seemed like the balls moving a lot faster. I loaded my 51 Colt Navy the same way It sounded way different when I shot it. it made a loud pop when I fired it those balls were screaming. The guns stayed well lubed and the barrels stayed very clean and had excellent accuracy. Lubing the cylinder pin and balls on the NMA keep it running trouble-free as well

Yes, it kept the barrel clean and every well lubed. As bullet lube accuracy was great velocity went up and in the case of my 51 Navy it went from a black powder thud to a high pitch pop like a 357 mag with a 20-grain charge. I was shooting one-inch groups rested @ 25 yards. For me, that's really good it might be normal for other people. Next week I want to practice off-hand.
