I have just ordered a lucas bore guide.I will have to get a longer 44 inch rod.Any recommendations on a new rod? How are the carbon fiber or would you just stick with the Dewey coated rod

I've used the Tipton carbon fiber rods for the last 4 years and highly recommend them instead of the Deweys.

hoghunting I was looking at one of those I just was;nt sure if they were flexible. And if they did touch the rifling would they damage it

I recently got some Tipton rods myself. Much Better than the multipiece aluminum, brass, or cheaper coated rods I've used in the past. I have two of them in the 36inch, the 22-26cal and the 27-30+cal. Excellent cleaning rods!

does the Tiptons have the same size thread as the Deweys

I'm sure they are the same threads. You can read about them at midway usa. I use the Tipton rods too.

The Tipton carbon fiber rod does have some flex - as all rods do - but the carbon fiber does not damage the barrel.

I was a Dewey fan until the coating started coming off one of my rods.
