My M1A shoots dead on with a center hold at 100 yards, with the elevation cranked all the way down. I do not have access to a 200 yard range for practice, but will be shooting competition at one soon - how many clicks should I dial in to adjust between 100 and 200 yards?

Ammo is M118LR.

The standard come ups are:
2 for 200yds (From 100 to 200),
3 for 300yds (from 200 to 300),
12 for 600yds (from 300 to 600--and actually, it's more like 12-14 clicks)

"2 for 2, 3 for 3, 12 for 6"

They will get you on paper for any ammo in the M1 or M14.

If you decide to shift to go with a 6 o'clock hold, I'd leave the sights set for 100yds (from the bottom edge to the center of any highpower target is 3-3.5 MoA).

Sven, I think you and I discussed this over the phone. I think 4 clicks will do it.

200-300 is 3 minutes
300-600 is 9 minutes IN ADDITON to the 3 you added from 200-300. No offense to 30cal but I think if you put 12-14 on after you have added the 3 for 300, you will be over the target and shooting misses. This is for 168/175 with a good charge, maybe M118 performs differently.
