im eagerly waiting for it to get to "theaters everywhere" on the 9th. it looks great

he also uses a 1911 in the film it seems.

Wheres his .44 magnum S W revolver ? Garand is too powerful in urban setting.

If it's what you have on hand, 8 rounds of M2 ball are just about perfect.

Looks like another awesome performance by Clint Eastwood. Pretty soon someone is going to have to write a script for an 86 year old badass for him to keep going :)

Ted's Barbershop

The main reason I want to see this, one of the scenes was shot in a barbershop I go to.

ctgmi - and those scenes are quite funny!

I just saw the movie last night; great flick. Clint did an excellent job acting, the characters were well developed and intriguing, and it was a very interesting and well paced story. Plus, it makes me all warm and fuzzy to own an M1. :)

Awesome movie... After watching the movie I took out my m1 and said "GET OFF MY LAWN"...

The Ruger 10/22 makes more sense considering the urban setting. Besides, the 10/22 is a lot sexier than the M1 Garand.

They made a similar movie where the character DID use a Ruger 10-22 instead.

Called "Ford Pinto"

:D :D :D

I know. I chuckle when I see him saying"get off my lawn" in the commercial. It's pretty stereotypical...the old man......shaking his fist......you pesky kids get off my lawn! I mean that in a humorous way. I'm a huge Clint Eastwood fan. I'm a big John Wayne fan too, but when Clint goes I think he'll be even more revered than J.W.

"We used to stack f**ks like you five feet high in Korea and use you for sandbags."

A guy on a totally unrelated forum (which is not about guns) mentioned that his son rode his bike from school in Dallas with a few 'gangbanger' types in a car harassing him.

The guy said that he came out carrying his AR-15 and told the low-lifes that they were not to ever bother his son again.
He seemed to have held their undivided attention.

In the Trailers I have seen for the movie, the handgun sure looks like a Browning Hi-Power.
