So I'm going to jump in to the AR15 market here in about a month, and was wondering what the concensus of the CMMG Bargain bin rifle was?
I carried an M16 over in the sandbox, and want to get back in to shooting the platfrom again.
Also wondering suggestions on accurate iron sights/BUIS for varmint hunting would be. I probably won't scope it for quite awhile, as I still like using Irons, being young and all .
And the Drop in .22lr conversion. My ideal option would be a whole upper, but I can't justify dropping $500 on a .22lr upper, when the whole CMMG Bargain bin rifle is only $600 itself. ha. I understand that using bulk .22 ammo with the .223 barrel will need the crap cleaned out of it, but would the accuracy be that much worse than my Marlin 60? I'm trying to get my girlfriend in to shooting a bit, and the .22lr would be perfect for her to start, then move up. Not to mention the price is bulk .22lr is awesome.
EDIT: Also, I don't see a listing for the chamber on the bargain bin page. Are these safe to shoot with surplus 5.56?
