Scores being posted as I write this, for those who have been following this post. Looks like they're getting caught up.

And I'll be able to celebrate at Perry. Badge #1399. :)

Congrats.

Holding a Distinguished badge is a big deal. Congrats on your hard work, perseverance and accomplishment.

Hold your water dude. I legged out 3/5/07, got some letters, but no numbered badge yet. Them folks is a might busy gettin' ready for a big shootin' match, bein' the 100th anniversary and all...

Congrats on getting over the hump from DR# 1826. Now you gonna get busy on one of these too?

That's the plan. :) Already dragged out all my rifle stuff from when I was shooting Highpower before.

Not worried about getting a badge with a number on it. At least they posted it on the website and that's good enough for now. They'll hand me something at Perry just to make it look good for the camera. :)

Just curious, what match did you leg out at? They've been pretty good about posting stuff since they solved the "service match" problem.

I was shooting the Navy EIC matches back in the mid 1990's and picked up my 30 points just about the time that DCM changed over to CMP.

I was waiting for my Distinguished Badge but got a letter from CMP stating that the Navy had not sent the registration fees for the EIC matches to DCM so my points were disallowed and I had to start over again. It worked out OK as I legged out the next year with 10 point legs.

And rifle? Oh yea, I did that back in 1968 when the Navy badges were solid

Long Distinguished runs.

Ben Sepaugh, the owner of the Panola range, was the oldest guy to go Distinguished up to his date, which was in the late 1900s. He was over 60. Rol Coggins just legged out- he got his first points with a GARAND in the mid-80s, then shot M1As for a decade or so, got more points, and finished with an AR15 this spring. Rol finished when he was 60 as well.

Couple of our juniors have legged out. They aren't juniors any more but they were when they went Distinguished. One of them won the Alice Bull last year and the other one is on the Army Marksmanship Unit.

When the Panola Club gets together it seems like everyone is Distinguished and we have a large percentage of the High Masters in Highpower Rifle. Great bunch of guys. I usually shoot a group photo of Distinguished Riflemen at the Texas Championships and we line up by badge number. Sometimes we have 30 folks in the photo.

I'm not really sure they're going to dig their way out of the hole before the end of the month. Maybe the priority has been pistol matches.

The EiC point tracker is getting caught up. It looks like my points from April are on the way. Interestingly enough, the All-Navy results have been removed entirely from the CMP competition tracker.

Point updates

I see my first six points for pistol is posted. Should have had six from LAST year and shot better at Dallas and Davis. Oh well. On to the Nationals at Camp Perry.

Glad to be started. The first points and the last points are the toughest to get IMHO.
