Ok soo... I have a Red Dot that sits about 1 inch above my flat top AR and i have a flip up front iron sight that the post is pretty much right in the center of my red dot when i turn it on.

Now, i want to have a rear sight that matches the same level as my front sight, the brand i have they actually make the rear and front sight to match. I only had the front so i am buying the rear flip up now.

Soo my question is... What is the different between the two when some one says it will provide a absolute co-witness for mil-spec iron sights or bottom 1/3 for mil-spec iron sights...?

I Wanna be able to have the front sight UP and the rear sight UP and have that red dot totally center between the hole i look through and the post. Does that mean if you can do this its Absolute??

-Thanks for the help!

Correct. If when you look through your red dot, you see your normal BIUS sight picture (ie front post centered in the rear aperture) with the dot sitting on the front post you have absolute co-witness. Lower 1/3 means that when you look through your red dot you see the front sight post in the lower 1/3 of your field of view, and you are not looking through your rear aperture at all. Once you look through your rear aperture the dot will then be on your front post.

Awesome! That helps out a bunch! Because i am as well looking for a new 30mm ring mount that is the same style as the rind mounts that come with the Aimpoints that mount the scope forward of the base. and everything i was reading was talking about lower 1/3 or absolute and that was getting pretty confusing. Soo, Thanks for your help man! :)
