Short update on prices: the knife, Coast-DX340 (see OP for link), is currently listed at $7. Another larger model, FX412, is also $7, and a smaller pocket knife, FX175, is about $9. I've ordered a couple of each since I tend to lose my EDC knife about every 2 months. For inexpensive working knives, I'm stocking up.

I love waking up old threads!

Well my Coast is over a year od now and been in pretty much daily carry/use.

Lost it for five days for a bit (car seat ate it) and found it this morning after it went walk about Wednesday. I considered using it to skin a cat with as Mr. Jellybean believes it is his job to constantly inpect to see that gravity is working correctly by knocking hings off flat surfaces around the house. This time he knocked my desk top tower over a few degrees and a soda glass and empty plate off the corner of my desk and aperrently knocked the Coast under the slightly leaning desk top tower to be un seen until I tried to right the tower this AM.

The knife is holding up well. It is seeing a fair amount of work. It was being used Wednesday to cut up part of my lunch in fact. Hay bail twine and feed bags, both paper and nylon, as well as card board and associated tape are its staple diet.

No run ins with Zombies or the 43rd Mongol Horde since slipping it in my pocket the first time.

Still opens and closes freely.

I have not actually sharpened it in the year and a month since it came out of the blister pack, but have cleaned up the edge by a few swipes now and then on a little pocket steel. Not shaving sharp, but sharp enough for chores. Maybe the Sharp maker after lunch as I need to do some kitchen knives anyway.

Only real noticeable wear and not much at that is the belt/pocket clip loosing a bit of its black coloring......let's see there is a black permanent Sharpy in my pen cup right over there......nope, I was wrong the clip looks just fine.

I've had the LX330 for about a year and a half and I'm happy with it.

I went to Menards and bought the Guidesman Uproar for $8.99, which is an almost identical knife to the Coast LX330. The Uproar blade is 8Cr13Mov steel, the Coast knife is made out of 7Cr17 steel.

I've been happy with both knives.

Got the DX340 in the back pocket today. It's light weight makes it handy to carry on the daily chores and garden work. It's been a good knife for the price. Heck, it'd be a good knife for twice the price that I paid... :)

Walked by saw the sign two for $9.88 and since I'd bought some for use and gifts when this thread first started, just couldn't pass them up, using one as EDC right now.
