Coating/Plating Alloy guns

Hi All,
Looking for feedback from folks that have had Aluminum or Scandium framed guns done up in any of the super coatings. Metalife, Robar, Birdsong, etc...

how do they hold up? Anybody done a titanium cylinder in anything.

Rolling over a project gun in my mind and looking for help. Thanks.

IMO, since I haven't tried any of them on anything other than steel, the first thing to do would be to contact the outfits who produce a proprietary finish you're considering, tell them what you have in mind as far as use conditions, your budget, etc. and ask them what they'd recommend.

These folks are pros whose businesses are sustained by their reputation for quality results and customer satisfaction. They've learned through experience what works in what applications and won't try to sell you something that's marginal for your needs just to get your money.

They get more and better data about how their products actually perform in various applications and materials over time and usually are the first know if there's a potential conflict.

Most of them are also able and willing to refer you to customers who've had similar work done on a particular weapon.

It's what I'd do, FWIW.

I've had aluminum frames done by RoBar and I've been very pleased.
