Colorado Assault Weapons Ban

Doubt it. You are postulating that the two remanded cases dealing with assault weapons are finally decided upon. So far it's been crickets on them. The circuits will find for gun bans and then to Scotus - that will be a long time and it is an unknown how some of the justices will go on overturning AWBs and mag bans. Kavanaugh and Roberts are seen as ambiguous by some.

The court could have decided those cases using Bruen but decided to send them back down. Why?

1. Some kind of procedural rule - no, they had the power
2. Some desire to 'scold' the circuits - that's stupid and just a game
3. Not clear that the gun folks could get a majority, so punt.

The refusal to support the NYS CCIA is telling. My reading of experts is they had the technical power to support it (which Clarence lovers say isn't true) but for the majesty of the court and again wanting to chastise the 2nd, they demurred. Great - it just maintained a denial of a basic right for their posturing. Or the votes for a clear decision against CCIA like bills isn't there.

I've also been told that if they supported the CCIA TRO, that would inflame the country so much that Joe would pack the court. Ridiculous. If anything their decisions on the subject not to be mentioned, Bruen already and Clarence and Alito's sexually repression poop fits have sealed their reputation. CCIA would be trivial.

Clarence drops dead or gets into an irretrievable scandal in his sailor suit in current time, the court changes and not for the benefit of the RKBA.

This failure of this bill is most likely because they haven't completely forgotten the recalls that occurred after the 15 round mag and UBC legislation a decade ago. 3 dems lost their seats and several others very narrowly held onto them.

They did manage to pass a 3 day wait for buyers this session. They did that pretty quietly.

And that has been their tactic. As Terry mentioned, propose all kinds of heinous crap, then "settle" for passing some "little" stuff. They will continue to chip away at gun rights, and we must remain ever vigilant. Make no mistake, they are salivating at the idea of doing something like WA just pushed through. On that note, though, they are also paying attention to the fallout from that. If the courts strike a bunch of it and/or a bunch of liberals get ousted, states like ours, Oregon and others that have been infested by kalifornians and new yorkers and are being infused with Bloomberg & Soros capital will tread more carefully. Of course, if WA Democrats keep their seats and courts uphold the legislation, it will embolden them. Unfortunately, all we can do in that regard is wait and see.

What was passed and signed:

- Mandatory minimum 3 day wait for all dealer purchases or transfers statewide.
- No purchase or dealer brokered transfer by age 18-20 for all firearms.
- Expansion of who can initiate a Red Flag request.
- Removal of legal protections for industry members against frivolous Soros-funded lawsuits.

Annnnnnnnnnd, like all anti gun liberal creeps, the next one will encroach a little more once the sheep become acclimatized to the above.
