Colt 1911--worth it?

Does it really matter? Bullets don't know, bad guys hopefully won't be around long enough to know, and frankly I prefer to use a Glock on the latter if the issue ever came up. Besides I can't help but change something on 1911s anyway.

I must say that I feel compelled to agree with Old Fuff in the strongest possible way. Further this does not just apply to 1911's, or even just firearms in general. I for one am sick and disgusted with the modern technique of manufacturing and remember a time when the Rampant Colt emblem along with that of other American industrial monarchs stood for the best! Now were just paying for the memory's, and in many instances not even that..........
