WHICH Colt .32 "Police". It'll be marked on the barrel.

Colt made several guns in various .32 calibers.
There was the Colt .32 Police Positive.
There was also the Colt .32 Police Positive Special.

23277xx is too many numbers. Colt numbers on either gun only went up to 6 digits.

If the serial number is 23277x, then it could be 1921 for a Police Positive Special. If its a Police positive, then it could be 1926.

Thanks but I just noticed a typo. I meant to type "could be 1936" and not 1926 for a Police Positive. Actually it's probably more like late 1935, as the serial number started with 233000 for 1936. That is, if the serial number is 23277x and not something else. I think I need to get stronger reading glasses. Production of the Police Positive began around serial number 49500, and ended with serial number 238623, in 1943. Total production was around 199,000 revolvers.

What bullet would this use? Would it be chambered for the colt equilivant of the 32 S&W long or the colt 32 bullet that is not made any more?
