My wife bought me a 6in colt diamond back 38 cal. at a pawn shop. Its in very good condition. I was wondering how much its worth. She paid 400.00 for it. It has a good feel to it and someone told me that there was only 2000 made. Any info would be great. She also bought me a 41 cal smith and wesson for 225.00 in fair to good condition. Any thoughts guys.

Quite a bargain on the Diamondback if it is in good condition. A picture woud be useful. There are no published production numbers for the Diamondback other than the 6" nickel 22 which was 2200 according to the Blue Book.

What is the Smith? You mean 41 magnum?

Where are these pawn shops that price things like this?

Me and my wife are friends with the owner . And yes its a 41 s&w mag. sorry about that. The owner knows we dont have alot of money and I do alot of work for him. He told my wife that he wanted me to have a good gun knowing that I have boys and it wouldnt be resold and handed down. So I know Im getting a good deal. The s&w 41 mag. ammo is outragious. Does anyone know where to buy it at a better price? Ill have my wife to take pics. and post them soon.

The 41 magnum is a model 57 and no there is no such thing as cheap ammo for them. You can shoot a 44 mag for about the same price if not less but the 57 is a nice gun. I have one of them in nickel that I really like.

For the price of 150 rounds of ammo you can get a Lee turret press, a set of .41 magnum dies, a reloading manual, 1lb of powder, 1000 primers
add some bullets and cases, and you can reload .41 mag ammo for a pretty reasonable price.

told me that there was only 2000 made

Just so you know, there were far more than 2,000 6" blue 38spl Diamondbacks manufactured. That does not mean they aren't one of the lower production variations of the Diamondback family. The 4" blue 38spl is the most common.

How do I post a pic. of my guns?

Ok guys, I had my wife down load the pics. of my two guns that she bought, but I dont know how to post them on here. Any help would be great. Im not great at computers but I can follow instruction!

You first need to upload the photos to an image hosting website like www.photobucket.com (free). You may have to resize the image to make sure they are not too big. Once uploaded, you type the URL of the image into your reply, surrounded by the tags [*IMG] and [*/IMG] but without the *. There is a little image icon on the reply screen that will help. If you use photobucket, they have a box that copies the whole thing to your clipboard. Then just paste into the Reply box.

BTW, congratulations on your acquisitions. Depending upon the condition of the Diamondback, retail value may go up to $900 to $1,000. You also got a smokin' deal on the .41 mag, though as you are finding out, it is a less common caliber.
