Ok I give up.
I bought a set of older colt grips with gold medallions. They are in very good condition.
You can tell the medallions are origional and have been in there forever even though they are in very good condition.
The grips fit an I frame. The right grip goes straight up and fades in to the gun frame just like an older python grip.
The left grip is swept out at the top just like an old python grip.
What's throwing me off is, these grips are very light in color, have a very mild sheen, almost between flat and satin in finish, but these grips are smooth.
Non-checkered. I know what they aren't, but I don't know for sure what they are originally from. They appear to be an old non-checkered python grip. But I have never seen or heard of Colt making non-checkered with medallions, only non-checkered without medallions like on the 1776-1976 Bicentennial set.
I can't find anything about them in my colt books, written or in a picture.
Anybody know what I have here.
Thanks,
