The m4 ops model is pretty nice. The metal construction is nice compared to the S&W. I noticed that it is almost identical to a colt 6920 on the exterior. Same weight as well. The butt stock is mil spec. The quad rail is high quality. The dust cover on it works.
The complaints I have are: The pistol grip has different mounting holes, so you will have to modify a different grip for it. The 30 round magazine is too long for my taste. Field stripping requires a punch and hammer. When I zeroed the iron sights I had to adjust windage all the way to the right. That was frustrating at first. I will try a vortex strikefire red dot soon.
I had some light strikes with Federal 550 packs, but only a few. Remington 550 packs don't work at all for me. For $400 I am really impressed with this gun. I am really surprised to see all the bad reviews out there. I compared it with the Smith and Wesson M&P .22 in the store. I thought the Colt looked more like the real thing. I also did not like the plastic construction on the Smith.
