It is a nice gun to have as a collectors piece, and even occasional shooter or back up gun. But if they would have had a small gun with a larger round in it back then, I am quite sure that they would have been using it instead.

Whine about jello tests all you want, but I haven't read about a rash of marionette criminals. So I really don't want to know how my SD rounds work in pine boards or paper mache.

Ballistic gelatin has a consistency that is very close to human tissue so is a relatively good source to determine how a bullet would perform in the human body.

Pine boards and phone books on the other hand are not similar in anyway to human tissue.

Gun Master you should also be aware of the fact that suspended cadavers and cattle are as unrealistic as pine boards as a pistol bullet testing medium. All three of those testing medias were used a century ago to test handgun bullets. The results being nearly a century of nonsensical "theories" and "formulas" being created by "professionals" and "experts" that produced fanciful ideas about the effectiveness of pistol bullets. While the testing media and procedures of today are far from perfect in evaluating the effectiveness of pistol bullets, they are much more credible than the inconsistent and flawed procedures of the pine board and livestock testing of the Thompson-LaGarde/Hatcher/Cooper/Taylor era
