wow that's a pretty pistol thanks! I want one as at old south firearms says this was the last bp revolvers made before the advent of the cartridge revolvers!

Blackpowdershooter44 - you beat me to it!

That will teach me to read all of the posts before I chime in!

The gun from Dixie https://www.dixiegunworks.com/produ...cts_id=1032&osCsid=82ms68u1k7accfgqs4e24ohm56 is built on the correct smaller pocket frame(1848 size)with a rebated fluted cylinder, where the one from EMF is built on the lager Navy frame with a fluted non rebated cylinder. It is another one of the fantasy BP pistols made, nothing wrong with it just isn't a gun that was built in the day. Just so you know what you are buying.

In this picture the second from the top is a correct size Pocket Police and the one fourth up from the bottom is like the EMF without a fluted cylinder. As the picture shows there is quite a difference in size.

I wear a men's large glove.

I can get most of my pinky on the grip of a Navy size (EMF Metro Police) grip.

I must curl my pinky under the grip of a true 1862 Pocket Police.

Both are secure holds for shooting but it does feel very different!

I hardly get my hand in a large, need an extra large. My little finger is under everything except the Army grips. I love the way the Colt Pockets disappear in my hand, but I am also a Derringer shooter.

Today I shot the Police in one hand and the Navy in the other. I under stand why the pocket pistols were so popular with people back then.
The Navy is a lot easier to load with more room to place the bullet and takes 5 more gr. of powder.
In conclusion the pocket for the pocket and every day carry, the Navy for all day shooting.

I just took advantage of the Dixie sale (still on) and ordered a 5.5" Uberti 1862 Pocket Police.

I like the looks of the Dell holsters, but their description is a bit confusing (They talk about the larger Cabela's model in the description for the HLT 005, but it is unclear whether this is the right holster for that larger model). Is the HLT005 or the HLT007 the correct size for the smaller Uberti? (If no one here knows I will drop them a line.) Thanks.

HLT004 is their full sized holster and will fit the Cabela's pocket police which has a full sized frame. Their HLT005 holster is built for the true framed Pocket Police built by Uberti. That's the one you want.

The one listed HLT007 is a custom holster and they said you have to call them to order.

Good luck with your revolver, they are sweet!!!!
