Colt Rail Gun price question

I am looking at the Colt Rail Gun. Model O1070RG is the stainless rail gun. Model O1980RG is an all black rail gun. Both of these appear to have the same features, and more or less appear to be XSE Models.

The list price of the stainless is $100 less. Why is it less?

i bought an RG - It is an XSE but I think Colt has been pushing the RG real hard for the 100th anniversary

Its because the black rail gun is the same stainless 1911 with a black Cera-kote coating.

All of the Rail Guns are stainless steel, but the black and two-tone versions are Cera-koted. The price difference between the two models is due to the cost of the Cera-kote.

Rail guns are for hunting rails. I sorta prefer a 20 gauge, myself.
