I disagree. It's good when a firearms manufacturer recognizes a fault in its products and issues a recall for same. This is not good for colt.
Respect them calling a spade a spade. Voluntary hammer upgrade sounds sleazy.
Sorry, but that's just plain B.S. First, Colt IS calling it an important safety RECALL, didn't sugarcoat anything and is owning the problem. Second, if you knew any industry insiders, you'd know that the current leadership and technical teams have been very forthcoming about issues with their products and taken fast action for resolution. Its colt, would you expect anything different?

I was supporting colt and mocking sig. When your sig shoots by itself it needed a voluntary upgrade.
Sucks for colt but again I like calling it what it is. No one wants to do a recall but sometimes you have to.
How can that be?
Colt is the only one with the blessed ‘Technical Data Package’ (TDP) and is the only AR that one can trust ones life with and run through a carbine match without failing?
First COVID and now this!?!
I know, since they "are the only ones who make ar15s with the TDP" how can they make sub par hammers. seems like you are only paying for a premium for the pony now.
Wouldn’t the super secret data packages have a technique for testing the hammer steel, before they go into rifles?
