Colt SAA disassembly.

Thanks for posting the Link to the dis-assemble.

I have been thinking about taking one apart, and this is welcome for studying first.
 
Do yourself a favor and get a set of fitted screwdrivers or bits before tackling the SAA. There are several different sized screws in the sixgun (five if I remember right) and use of the wrong size will forever booger up the heads.

@CraigC: Yeah, I made a note on screwdrivers in the article, but I should probably elaborate and make it more prominent. I'll make the edit now.
 
I was going to comment, but couldn't figure out what my "profile" was. Here is what I was going to say:

It might be worth a note that some SAA Colts have one piece grips without a screw; to remove those, the backstrap has to be removed first, then the grips carefully pulled away from both back and front straps.
