So there is a guy local wanting to sell a colt sp1 for 1000. the rifle of course shows some signs of use and blemishes. The only problem is i have yet to see one under 1250 lately, so im a little weary. So this leads me to an arsenal sgl-31. i know its brand new and has a warranty. I've wanted both of these rifles for awhile. I want the Colt more because im a history buff and love vietnam history and since I owen ar-15 have mags and ammo. So if you had the same problem which one would you get. Thank you for your time

If the Colt has less rounds into the barrel , might be okey for the price. But try asking $900. Check the internal parts for signs of high usage. I dont know much of Colt parts but be leery if theres nonColt part in it.

Of course the SGL 31 is a great gun, Russian quality and cheaper bulk ammo . The rave of 5.45 cal has been spreading for the last four years , so i think its a toss up on this and the Colt. Again, if Colt has a high mileage i d pass on it.

If barrel mileage is low on the Colt with sharp rifling and deep grooves, $ 900 is a good price in my opinion . Yes i like the traditional SP1 too. I had an USAF sgt tried to sell me his old Colt SP1 in 1998 for $ 700 . It looked beat up and sloppy upper and lower lockup. Many scratches to boot. Since i wasnt into ARs, i right away passed on the deal . $ 700 at the time was whole lot of money.

Well im also left handed and the case deflector not being there might be a deal breaker.

I personally would go with the Arsenal, but if you are dedicated to the Colt more, get that. Afterall, I prefer the AK platform.

Colt has a cult following all its own. It be worth getting one at a great price.
