A local gun store just got in on consignment an unfired Colt Trooper Mark III 22 Mag, Blue finish, 6" barrel with box and all paperwork. Would anyone have an idea what the value is for this gun. I have never seen one in 22 mag. Thanks for any input.

$12-1500 bucks. Market has gone crazy on the later model Colt DA revolvers the last couple years. These are pretty rare - I have the data in the noggin, but can't dredge it up. Info via Google should be an easy find.

I went back to the gun store this morning to look at the Colt. It is in mint condition with box and papers, ect. After looking at it and wiping it down I could not resist. It is now in the safe. Thanks for the input!

Dang,,,

Two years ago I paid $750 for a pristine Mk-III in .22 LR,,,
Even I thought I was crazy for spending that much.

I really don't know if a Magnum version rates more money than a LR version,,,
A search in GunBroker was no help for the magnum version,,,
They had a 8" model with a starting bid of $899,,,
But no actual bids on the gun as yet.

$975 might seem high but Colt ain't making any more of them,,,
Standard catalog of Firearms list them as "sleepers",,,
When all the Pythons are bought up,,,
The Troopers will be collectable.

About two years ago, I also paid about $700 for a 6" .22lr. I also thought I paid too much even though it was NIB.

I've never even seen the Trooper Mk III in 22Mag. I too would have purchased it. I only have one word for you: SCORE (hound and lucky were close runners up :D)

I have a the standard 357Mag version and it is an extremely sweet shooting gun.

A classmate showed me his Colt Officer's Match in 22 LR. Beautiful gun.

Colts revolvers are developing a mystique.

I sold a 6" Diamond Back in .22 Mag for almost $3000
I have a 4" Mark 3 in .22mag and the blue is brighter than any Colt other than a 60s or earlier Python for some odd reason. Also it is super smooth DA and reasonable SA and very accurate. Not as accurate as my 8 3/8 Model 48 .22mag, but more accurate than my 5.5" Colt New Frontier .22 mag.
