I currently carry a P3AT in my right rear pocket in an Uncle George holster. I like that method a lot except, now that summer is here, I have some shorts with overly large rear pockets that let the holster flop into an unacceptable sideways position. I'd like to IWB carry with a camp shirt but I hate the pistol touching my skin - drives me nuts. Adding an undershirt, even a Cool-Max type, makes me too warm. I was thinking about an IWB holster e/w leather to keep the gun off of my skin but now I read here that is also uncomfortable. Any suggestions? Anybody?

Leather feels better than plastic. Neither feels very comfortable on bare skin. An "a" shirt or whatever minimalist undershirt is the compromise almost everyone finally settles on.

Of course, if you're wearing a guayabera or camp shirt anyway might as well just carry OWB as you don't need the extra concealment of IWB in that case.

When the USAF gave me paid vacations to the Middle East, Pacific Islands, and the south Indian Ocean, I always wore an undershirt with either BDU's or flight suits. It worked fine. Actually, I found it more comfortable than not wearing the undershirt.

With such a tiny little gun, I'd use a minimalist kydex holster. I know somebody will recommend something along the lines of the CrossBreed Super Tuck as being so comfortable, but that is a lot a material for such a small little gun that weighs practically nothing.

I'd pick something like…

There are others making similar designs.

Have you looked at N82 (Nated Squared)? Backing against skin is padded and soft material. I will wear mine with and without an undershirt.

Ok. I'll say it. Crossbreed. Either the supertuck or maybe minituck if they offer it.

For a bit more, you can get cowhide and it'll feel softer.

If you are set on carrying that gun, spend a bit of money on a good holster. It's worth every cent.

While I've no experience with them (which means I probably shouldn't even be posting about it), I've read lots of good reviews about Remora holsters.

REMORA SERIES 2R "RFT" HOLSTER (Pocket / IWB)
I use the remora holsters daily. I have one for each of my guns in the 'standard' setup and one with the 'sweatshield'. I wear a t-shirt under polos normally so I use the standard holster as my EDC. When I'm just wearing a t-shirt and the gun will be against my skin I use the holster with the sweatshield.

Recently I bought a Garretts (my second) holster. This time I ordered a Silent Thunder Solo model. I do carry a lot and this is one very comfortable holster. The clip stays put, very adjustable, tuckable if needed, the leather lining saves wear on the slide, and the Kydex makes it sturdy. It does collapse a bit when drawing the gun but re-holstering is not that bad if you are prudent.

"Comfortable IWB" is an oxymoron. After my own frustrating search for a tolerably uncomfortable IWB, I decided it was not for me. OWB works for camp shirts and others with tails not tucked... ahh, what a relief!

FWIW, super tuck and summer comfort were worn and subsequently rejected during the course of my search. Others wear them. Everyone's experience is not the same.

I'll throw in my 2 cents in. For any small pistol Thunderware does work and is decently comfortable. You don't need a belt. Elastic waist pants are best.

I carry my glock27 in a galco king tuk. I understand what you mean by wanting a comfortable holster and worried about the leather touching your skin. Mine is leather backed and very little of the leather touches my skin since I also wear underwear when I carry.
