I am ashmed to say this as a bullseye shooter but I am being drawn over by the evil "RIFLE SHOOTING BUG" I am begining to feel this urge to buy a match rifle and begin competion. It is over takeing me as I type. From the rule book I got off the NRA web site I take it to be that a Winchester MOD 70 is still in the allowable. I know go with a AR-15 like alot of the shooters but frankliy I love my bolt guns more than I love autos. The reason I ask this is because there is a purity MOD 70 at the gun shop. Free floating barrel and walnut stock with a 1 inch leather military sling with a 3 by 9 power scope. I know the scope will have to go. It has Iron sights but I realy want to put "MATCH" sights on it if I buy it. If and when I purchase it what type of rear and front sights should I buy. I thought matbe LYMAN sights but I am new and do not know what is best. So please if you can help this poor and mis guided Bullseye pistol shooter find his way please help.

P.S. NO OFFENSE TO THE BULLSEYE PISTOL SHOOTERS

GOD BLESS

Try it once and you'll be hooked like I am. I shot bullseye when I was younger and never had an inkling foe high power. Shot my first match the beginning of this year and can't get enough. I bought a garand so I could shoot CMP matches also.

I've shot both disciplines over the years and High Power is fun.

Be sure and check to see if you can still get a stripper clip guide for that Model 70. You'll need it for the reload in the rapid fire stages. Brownells might carry them.

We have one or two guys here who still shoot a bolt gun on occasion.

If you want top of the line stuff then a Warner rear sight and a Right Sight on the front.

Cheaper rear sights: Pheonix , RPA , PNW.

A cheaper front sight would be a 22mm RPA from from OK Weber.

Are you going to shoot at Ft. Knox? There are a lot of good people that shoot there.
