compact scope for a Ruger 10-22?

Hello, I'm looking for a good but not great COMPACT (say 8-10" top) scope for my Ruger 10-22. I guess I'd need scope rings too, unless they come with it. Can be 4x fixed, or 2-7x or 3-9x tops. Say $100 tops. Can'[t see spending more than that. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks, sort of compromised and went with: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=748138 though from Cabelas since MidwayUSA was out of stock (they seem to do that a lot, otherwise fantastic resource and great CS). 1.5-4.5x magnification.

Seems to fit the bill and solid reviews. 10.5" overall length and 10.5 oz. Got standard/matte medium weaver 1" rings. I'll get some Butler Creek flip-up scope covers locally.

I expect 4.5x will be fully adequate for "long-range" shooting (100m) or so, but 1.5" will allow for semi-quick target acquisition, and should still be better than the factory scout-style sights. 3x should be good for in-between shooting. That's the hope anyhow.

I ordered a cheap Centerpoint 2-7x32 online. It seems very decent for the $60 shipped.

Got the scope, mounted easily enough. Glass seems pretty nice and the 1.5x to 4.5 maginification also seems to work pretty simply. Of course, need to sight it in and shoot and see how it holds zero, but so far, I'm as pleased as I could reasonably hope to be...
