As we often shoot at different locations here in the desert, have been looking at making up a portable shooting range kit which can be set up or taken down in a couple of minutes.
The target holder is simply two aluminum rods easily driven into ground, (could be wood/metal stakes of choice) strings tied to two rubber bands for keeping taunt and target is taped to strings.
I had an old, but very sturdy Bausch and Lomb professional camera tripod, the head is adjustable as to angle slant. I made up a leather padded aluminum rest that was drilled & tapped 1/4-20 for standard camera holder threads. The folding chair is a common item.
Model is my wife of 52 years, she still shoots and reloads her own ammo.
Tripod lying on folding chair with aluminum rods demonstrates small size of kit when all is collapsed.
