I plan on getting a FL non-resident CCW permit so I can carry in PA etc. Does anyone here carry their fullsize M&P .40? If so, what holster do you use, where do you keep it, etc? Obviously in winter it's much easier to conceal, but what's best to conceal it in the summer with just shorts & a t-shirt?

It would have to be an awfully big T-shirt. :scrutiny: And if the tail of the shirt is worn outside your shorts, there will be nothing to stop the gun butt and frame from rubbing your bare skin. I like to wear the slightly large, square-cut hem shirts popularly known as "camp shirts," with an undershirt to stop the rubbing, myself.

If you get the right holster and belt, and modify your dress a bit, you can carry it. Plenty of people do it. I've carried a Glock 17, 1911, and Sig 226. All are about the same size, if not larger, and were not really a problem.

Try mp-pistols.com for some suggestions on holsters.

Fobus

I use a Fobus paddle holster (www.midwayusa.com) for my M&P 40 full size and have been pleased with it. I use the same holster for my 9c when I need to down size gun size. As soon as I can get the soon to be released 5" M&P this holster will be a 3 gunner.

kdt, I have no idea what those abbreviations stand for. :)

I'm a skinny guy (5' 7" 130 lbs) and don't wear clothes 10 sizes too big. Most of my t-shirts don't go down past my belt much. Some shirts/jeans/shorts I wear are a little baggy, but nothing extreme like teenagers are wearing lol.

What's the difference between the Fobus Roto, Evolution & Paddle holsters?

If anyone has pics w/their holsters on etc that would also be helpful.

A lot depends on your build and how you dress.
I carry a full size Glock or 1911. That said, I am 6'6" tall and weigh 300 pounds. I'm fairly certain I could conceal a Howitzer. I normally carry either IWB or OWB on my right side about 3 o'clock under jeans and a button up or polo shirt untucked with an undershirt tucked in to protect the weapon from sweat- and it's more comfortable IMHO.
A longer cut shirt helps out a lot, so look for tall sizes next time you are at the mall. In the summer it is almost always IWB for me. Cargo shorts with a (again) longer polo shirt do the trick for me.

Some other tips others have given me...
-Do not skimp on your holster and belt. A good stiff belt with a quality holster will be more comfortable and easier to wear than the lesser quality stuff.
-Avoid nylon. Leather or kydex are the way to go.
-Shirts with patterns/stripes will break up the outline of your weapon if it is printing.
-If you are carrying a big black gun avoid thin white shirts.
-Don't adjust your holster in public, even if it is under a shirt. Go to the mens room if you must.
-If the gun is too big to carry, get another gun. If it is not comfortable or you cannot conceal it properly, it will only cause trouble.
-Most important of all, Concealed means concealed

Hope I have helped.

I'm a skinny guy @ 5' 7" 130 lbs. I don't wear too many baggy shirts and some of my jeans are baggy while some are not.

Crossbreed IWB holster with forward cant + over sized shirt and you are fine. A person your size should have no problem concealing the M&P.
