Is it legal to conceal a firearm on private property without a license? The reason for asking is that my family owns a business and I work in there through the week and on Saturday while I'm still going to college in town and there has been quite a few robberies lately in this area so I would prefer to have my pistol on me rather than sitting in the office on my desk. This is in Oklahoma. Thanks guys

There at least a couple different aspects of your question. I don't know about local laws, but in many places you can do anything you want in your home. Outside your residence, if you carry concealed a license or permit is usually required. I am not sure the fact that your family owns a place of business exempts you from this requirement, especially because it is a place that is open to the general public. This would likely be still more problematic if the family business involved alcohol sales or was close to a school.

I don't think internet advice will do much for you. I would suggest consulting your attorney or local LEO. While neither is infallible, they are more likely to know if this could cause a problem or not. You make the call, but base your decision on qualified advice. IANYL

Thanks for the advice everyone. I was hoping this information I needed was on the internet but I couldn't find it either.

Try this link. It's a pdf file from the Oklahoma government's CCW website.

Looking at page 34 of the pdf file, it appears to me that you would be in violation of the law, even carrying concealed in your own place of business. In Oklahoma, there is no provision or exculsion to allow an unlicensed person to carry concealed in their own place of business, on their own property, or even in their own home. I am not an attorney though.

You would do well to obtain a CCW license if you plan to carry concealed. It is not wise to wait until you believe you may need to exercise the right. Obtain the license beforehand, the same as you would a firearm.

in michigan it is. you can walk around on your own property with a firearm completely concealed, or a fully loaded 700 express elephant rifle.
