What would happen if you were caught (i.e. pulled over or something) carrying concealed and you didn't physically have your CCW permit/card on you? I know it probably varies widely from state to state, but I was wondering if you'd basically be arrested and/or fined, charged with a misdemeanor, etc. Surely there has to be some way a cop could call it in or check on the computer in his cruiser based on my DL number, social, name/address, etc.
I ask this because last year I took a trip to Florida and I stupidly left my FL CCW permit at home because I don't carry stuff I don't need every day in my wallet should it get lost or stolen. FL doesn't recognize my home state or my AZ permit since it's a non-resident one. I carried anyway and nothing came of it, thankfully.
