okay, me and my grand father both have a bit of a problem. We have long arms and short waists. While we can use hip holsters they are not comfortable or quick. Drop-leg holsters are what we find most comfortable but people don't like open carry and i hate the mall ninja image that goes with anything "tactical". the problem is that looking at concealed holsters, we can't find one that would be comfortable for long armed people like us. any ideas? as for an clue as to how long our arms are, my grand father can scratch his kneecaps without bending over. I'm not as bad but still...

Dr. Fresh: I thought this thread was about concealing long guns.

I thought the same! I looked at the title and had to do a triple take.

servantofinari, besides what Bamabob suggested, the only things I can think of is not using a high ride holster and to practice?

I'm confused. Wearing a gun on your hip carries it too high and hard to access?

Have you tried bending your elbows? (Kinda serious, kinda joking)

What kind of proportions are we talking about here? Can you post a picture maybe? This problem is a new one on me. I'm a fan of the "bend your elbow" suggestion myself. Drop leg holsters aren't meant to put your gun in a convenient spot. It's to keep it from interfering with your pack, web gear, slung rifle, etc.

A small of the back holster might be another possibility, but you have to use caution not to land on your spine.

What I would suggest is that you do a little moving around to figure out where on your body a weapon would be easy to access, then choose a holster appropriate for that area.
