My brother was given a very old percussion revolver marked on the cyl, "Pat. Sept. 10th 1850". on the barrel it is marked "Connecticut Arms". He is sending me a pic later tonite. The only thing I find on Connecticut Arms is about a bulldog derringer. I don't think it is CVA as it is very old. Anyone here have any ideas?

There was a Connecticut Arms Company of Norfolk, CT that made 17,000 Model 1861 Springfield Rifled Muskets that were sold to the Union government for $20 each. They were assembled from subcontracted parts.

There's several references to the company in the following article:

Connecticut Arms The Union

According to the article, prior to the civil war era the Connecticut Arms Company forged wagon axles.

The Hammond Bulldog derringer was made by the CONNECTICUT ARMS & MANF. Co. NAUBUC CONN.

That is a different company from another part of the state.
Naubuc is located much closer to Hartford, CT.
