...my Beretta 92. It is in excellent condition, blue, made in Italy, and I have a few factory hi-caps. I DO like this gun and shoot it well. I am just short on cash now and there are a couple other items in the shop that are a'callin- so I was thinking of using it in a trade with the local shop.

One reason I ask this, is my main interest is revolvers these days, and I already have a couple other 9mm's, namely a Hi-power. When I peruse these forums I always see threads on people saying "I got my new Sig!" or my "new HK"- but I rarely if ever see anyone commenting on the "Beretta I found today !" So, in most people's minds, where does the Beretta stand? Do people still see it as a quality well finished sidearm, or has it fallen out of favor somewhat !?!?

I apologize for the rambling nature of this- I am sick, at work, and the fever is making it harder and harder to decide if I should carry this on over to the shop as trade material... any responses GREATLY appreciated.

KEEP IT! You've already found a pistol that works well for you, why sell it in pursuit of the unknown? If you're interests are in wheelguns right now, that's fine, one day in the not so distant future you'll want to take your old friend out again & you'll quickly remember why you kept her ;) I have 2 Italian 92's, a Centurion & fs inox and wouldn't sell them for anything!
KEEP THAT BERETTA!!! :D

KEEP IT! Never sell a gun that works well & shoots well. Its a sin. :uhoh:
And dont let all the hype of other brands bring your Beretta down. They are on par with all the other good manufactures. Find something else to sell.

I use the Beretta as the standard to measure other firearms for reliability and accuracy. I would guess that the reason it is not talked about much is that it's not a good conceal carry choice (it's a chunk). For me I would only trade a Beretta for another Beretta.

Keep It. I just recently picked up a new Beretta 92FS type M (to replace an old Taurus PT92 that I traded off several years ago and regretted ever since). The 92 is a great design, and the Beretta quality is still better than most (not all) mfgs.

No no, sell it to me at a rediculously low price, they're crap, especially with the hi-caps. you don't want those. They're evil. Yup, better sell it to me. Cheap. :D

keep it, my first gun was a taurus (which is essentially a beretta) and i'd never give it up.

BUY A GLOCK!!!!
No, seriously, I don't know why I have never owned a beretta, my brother in law has a 92 that shoots like a dream, and I went shooting with a friend last week, he handed me his 96 and said take a few shots, I blew out the center of the target, best shooting .40 I ever laid hands on, ya better keep it(or like some others said, sell it to me!!!!).....tom

yup,
I am thinkin I am gonna keep it now. Thanks for the input and glad to see others that really have a fondness for this pistol.

I'll scrape up the $$ for the other pistol I want and just put it on the good ole layaway...

Perhaps you need to sign up over at the Beretta Forum; lots of Beratta fanatics over there. In case you are interested, go to www.beretta-l-request.squack.com I hope I got that right! It is the registration page. In case I screwed up, just do a search on google for beretta-l , or beretta talk forum. By the way, Keep it.
